This is part four of a blog to document my progress in playing the ukulele. This is for my EDCI 306A course.

After my first midterm was completed, I ended up taking an unintentional break from playing for about one week. I think my fingers needed a little break, but I also had to put it aside to catch up on other school things. However, one week later I got right back into it. I resumed practice with my first song, “I’m Yours,” by Jason Mraz so that I could keep it fresh in my brain. I also started working on my second song. I chose the song “Riptide,” by Vance Joy. This song consists of three main chords. These chords are Am, G, and C. The sequence of single strums goes Am, G, C, C. The strumming pattern is DDU UDU, only done once per chord, and then twice on the C chord, hence why it is repeated in the sequence. I know this song is going to be challenging for me as it is faster paced, but I think with lots of practice I will be able to pick it up by the end of the term!
